Character

Unlike many others, a Villagio Madera floor’s character comes from the wood itself. Our floors are made from a specific grade of lumber that has been Rift and Quarter-sawn. Particular in white oak, this special cut provides a unique look that cannot be achieved in any other way. Our Tuscan line combines this wonderful grain pattern with the beauty that comes from knots, wormholes, burls and the nature color variations in lumber.

A floor made from rift and quartered lumber is also more stable, so you have less chance of developing cracks, cupping or warping, even in areas with more extreme seasonal weather changes. For more information on the Quarter-sawn process please click on the following link. Villagio’s quartersawn

All floors are custom made and we can vary the amount of character to achieve the look you desire; by Hand-scrapping, Pre-finishing with a custom color, weathering, and distressing.
